Latona
This series of six works on Yupo paper with silverpoint, graphite and acrylic, reflects stages toward purification, where the limitless possibilities of the world is reversible and a quantum leap is necessary to move from torment to fulfillment. In alchemy the stages are carbonization, decay, dissolution, distillation, sublimation, combination and fixation. The final panel shows the genesis of male and female, symbolized by the two leaves (taken from Durer’s etching of Adam and Eve) where the one becomes the two and the two becomes all.
